W Cape Education warns learners to stay safe at pens down events

The Western Cape Education Department has urged matriculants to be vigilant and responsible when attending matric rage events and pens down parties.
This follows the conclusion of the 2025 matric exams.
Western Cape Education Minister David Maynier has appealed to parents to ensure that their children understand the risks involved in attending these events.
“We encourage matric students attending these events to familiarise themselves with the safety measures at the event itself and to report anything suspicious to the South African Police Service or event organisers immediately. A party can have a lifelong impact if something goes wrong. Put your future first and celebrate safely.”
