The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) in the Western Cape will march to Parliament on Tuesday against retrenchments, weak economic growth, and the rising cost of living. The labour federation will hand over a memorandum to the Parliamentary authorities.

COSATU’s provincial secretary, Malvern de Bruyn, says they will also march to the Cape Town Civic Centre to hand over another memorandum on high electricity and water tariffs to the city’s mayor.

“We are saying that the people of the Western Cape are unhappy about what’s happening in our province and city. Hence, the call for members to come in their numbers. to support the call of COSATU to protest against what’s currently happening.”
