Power utility, Eskom, says it will continue with its load rotation until the replacement of a damaged transformer at Seboka Substation in Sebokeng.

Households in different parts of the Vaal were left without electricity after a fire damaged the transformer, which provided electricity to thousands of residents.

Residents say they are against the low rotation as it is not consistent.

Eskom Spokesperson , Amanda Qithi, says their technicians are working around the clock to replace the damaged transformer.

“The replacement of the transformer damaged in the fire is still in progress. The low rotation will remain in place until July 2026. Our teams remain on site to complete the replacement as soon as possible.”
