Goldie questions quality of NZ coaching

Jeff Wilson says New Zealand’s coaching exodus is at the heart of the All Blacks’ alarming slide.
Speaking on The Breakdown after the All Blacks’ 33-19 defeat to England at Twickenham, Wilson said fans were right to demand answers.
“We’ve been patient … but this isn’t Super Rugby. This is international rugby,” he insisted. “This team is clearly not in sync when it comes to dealing with pressure.
“I know other coaches in this position who haven’t had the benefit of the doubt, pretty much every other All Blacks coach wouldn’t have had the benefit of the doubt.”
Wilson argued that NZ Rugby had allowed invaluable coaching IP to go overseas.
“We spent years working out how to win World Cups and we let all of that walk out the door,” he said, before questioning whether Scott Robertson is trying to “copy and paste” his Crusaders formula.
“We’ve got World Cup winners in this group – Beauden Barrett knows what it takes. How have we not leaned on them? I don’t see it working,” he added.
WILSON: Rugby is in dangerous territory now
Former international teammate Mils Muliaina shared that frustration.
“We’ve got the players,” he said. “We’ve got 19 guys from the last World Cup and some X-factor … but we’re not seeing the potential. Our mental side, our ability to dictate terms – we’re giving it up too easily, and as a former All Black that’s hard to watch.”

Former scrumhalf Steve Devine pointed to a tactical malaise.
“There’s certainly something missing … they’re not all on the same page,” he told The Rugby Run. “We’ve lost our DNA on how to attack. We seem so structured now, a bit lost – and I don’t think I’ve ever seen that from an All Blacks team before.”
