Khumalo questions Hawks’ conduct over Katiso “KT” Molefe’s takedown

Madlanga Commissioner Sandile Khumalo SC has raised concerns over the conduct of the Hawks on the day that murder accused Katiso “KT” Molefe was taken down.
His comments come as two Hawks teams were deployed to Molefe’s home in December 2024.
While one team of the Hawks has testified that it stayed outside Molefe’s premises for an hour, another team states that it took only ten minutes to verify the lawful police operation.
Commissioner Khumalo has raised his concerns about possible police interference on the day that “KT” Molefe was arrested at his Sandhurst home.
“So, what I’m still uneasy about; is why the other Hawks members were there for 50 to 60 minutes, because it’s quite clear that what the Hawks were sent there to do, and your team actually confirms this, you could do that in 10 minutes and leave the scene. They didn’t have to be there for 50 to 60 minutes,” says Khumalo.
