Limpopo traders cash in as Armed Forces Day brings influx of visitors

Local restaurants, catering services, and informal food vendors in Thohoyandou, Limpopo, say they are experiencing a steady rise in customers ahead of the Armed Forces Day celebrations on Saturday.
Transport operators and retail businesses are also benefiting from the influx of visitors.
Some entrepreneurs have welcomed the government’s decision to host national events in the town, saying they will stimulate local economic growth.
“Things are a bit higher than we expected, it is good for us. In terms of sales, we are making a very good profit that we normally don’t see after festive seasons. So, since we have the army visiting, I think things are very good, we wish they could stay forever.”
