Masemola dodges question on whether Mchunu should be arrested – SABC News

National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola has not given a clear response to a question on whether suspended Police Minister Senzo Mchunu should be arrested or not.
Several top police officials, including Mchunu, have been implicated in protecting criminal cartels in Gauteng.
Mchunu, who is on special leave, has maintained his innocence, saying he is ready to clear his name.
Today is Masemola’s second appearance before Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee, which is probing allegations of criminal infiltration, corruption and political interference in the justice system.
ActionSA MP Dereleen James posed the question to Masemola.
“There is a case that is being investigated. I think I heard also you heard from General Mkhwanazi when he was here, Honourable Chair, that there is a case that is being investigated and one cannot comment on cases that are still under investigation,” said Masemola.
