Motorists urged to be patient amid severe traffic on N1, N3
Motorists are urged to exercise patience as major routes coming into Gauteng are heavily congested. The N1 at the Carousel Plaza towards Pretoria is now recording over 2 000 vehicles per hour, while the N3 at De Hoek Plaza from Durban to Johannesburg is recording almost 1 900 per hour.

Gauteng Traffic Police spokesperson Sello Maremane has appealed to motorists to exercise caution.
“R573 Pretoria Moloto Road traffic volumes are high and heavily congested towards Pretoria. The same is happening on the N12 Potchefstroom towards Johannesburg. N1 Bloemfontein from Grasmere Toll Plaza towards to Johannesburg is also experiencing heavy traffic volumes as well. Motorists are urged to be patient especially when approaching toll gantries.”
