Police in Mpumalanga are searching for suspects involved in the murder of a seven-year-old girl in Delmas.  

Thandolwethu Mahlangu was found dead in Delpark Extension 2  after she was reported missing by her mother on Tuesday, as she failed to return home.  

Her body was discovered by a neighbour who was cleaning his yard when he noticed small legs protruding from underneath rubble behind a shack. 

Police spokesperson Jabu Ndubane says an investigation revealed that the mother later received a text message demanding R3 000 for the child’s safe return. It is alleged that the money is owed by the child’s father.
