The new board of the Public Investment Corporation (PIC) has welcomed this week’s judgement of the Pretoria High Court to re-install Patrick Dlamini as the PIC’s CEO.

In a statement issued today, the board confirmed that Dlamini had resumed his duties as CEO and Executive Director of the PIC.

However, in line with civil society and labour demands, the board has reassured that the whistleblower allegations levelled against the CEO would still be investigated by an independent party.

The PIC board also indicated that it would fully co-operate with ongoing investigations by the Special Investigating Unit (SIU), the Public Protector, and the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA).

The board met today to set up oversight and corporate governance structures to ensure stability and continuity at the institution, adding that these were critical in ensuring effective investment processes and business functions at the organisation.
