Ramaphosa arrives in Brussels after successful Ireland visit – SABC News


President Cyril Ramaphosa has arrived in Brussels, Kingdom of Belgium, following a successful Official visit to Ireland.

The President is expected to hold talks with the European Union Commission leadership.

At the invitation of the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, Ramaphosa will lead South Africa’s delegation at the Global Gateway Forum (GGF), taking place from 9 to 10 October 2025 under the theme “Advancing Global Connectivity in the Face of Geopolitical and Geoeconomic Challenges.”

During his Official Visit to Ireland, the President and his counterpart discussed ways and means to strengthen the relations between the two countries. The focus was on science & innovation, higher education & skills development, including trade and investment.

South Africa has a long-standing historical bond with Ireland.

President Ramaphosa met with Irish companies as part of promoting investment and collaboration.
