Severe weather conditions expected in several provinces

The Weather Service has issued a Yellow Level 4 warning for severe thunderstorms across Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, the Free State and parts of the North West today.
Heavy rain, strong winds, hail and lightning are expected to cause possible local flooding.

The Service’s, Lehlohonolo Thobela says people should expect dangerous storms and must stay alert.
“These conditions are expected to result in heavy downpours that may lead to localized flooding, a possibility of damaging winds, as well as hail and excessive lightning into the afternoon. For the extreme western parts, very hot conditions are expected to result in uncomfortable weather, especially over the central and western parts of the Northern Cape, with heatwave conditions expected across Witzenberg Municipality of the Western Cape until Wednesday the 26th of November 2025,” says Thobela.
