SIU flags ex-RAF CEO Letsoalo in procurement saga – SABC News

The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) says former Road Accident Fund (RAF) CEO Collins Letsoalo’s name came up several times as an implicated person in its probe at the fund.

This is according to head of the SIU Advocate Andy Mothibi.
He was giving an update to Parliament’s Standing Committee on Public Accounts, on the RAF enquiry.
Mothibi says the investigation identified systemic governance deficiencies that contributed significantly to maladministration, financial instability and operational inefficiencies.

“The former CEO of RAF interfered in the procurement. This is the finding. We’ve investigated the process and so on. So we have found that the former CEO interfered in the procurement process in that he authorised the re-evaluation of the already evaluated bid by the BEC and BAC,” says Mothibi.
