Three murder suspects to appear at Wesselsbron magistrate’s court

A 20-year-old female suspect, together with two men, is expected to appear again in the Wesselsbron magistrate’s court in the Free State on the 31st of March, after they made their first appearance on Friday.
Police spokesperson Palesa Thabana says the person of interest was arrested alongside two male suspects age 23 and 25.
She says the arrests follow the fatal stabbing incident that occurred on Saturday, 29 November 2025, in Kotze Street, Wesselsbron.
Thabana says that according to information, the three passengers argued with the victim inside a taxi travelling from Welkom to Wesselsbron.
“The altercation allegedly escalated when the passengers alighted from the taxi, resulting in the fatal stabbing of Mokobi Masisi. Investigations were conducted, and the female was circulated as the person of interest. Wesselsbron police received and followed up on information which led to the subsequent arrests of the suspects. Nikiwe Mboyani, Simon Mohlabeng and Collin Mathe appeared today, 27 March 2026, in the Wesselsbron Magistrate’s Court on a charge of murder. The case was postponed to 31 March 2026 for bail application,’ says Thabana.
