Trio tracked and arrested in Gauteng for multiple house robberies in Limpopo
Police in Limpopo have arrested three foreign nationals linked to a string of house robberies in the Sekhukhune District after tracing them to Gauteng.
According to the South African Police Service, the suspects — aged 18, 19 and 34 — were wanted in connection with six house robbery cases and one case of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
The arrests followed intelligence indicating that the suspects were hiding in Hammanskraal and Soshanguve in Gauteng. Members of the Nebo–Jane Furse Tracking Team, assisted by the Sekhukhune Flying Squad, carried out the operation.
Police stated that most of the robberies occurred in the Masemola policing area.
One of the suspects, 19-year-old Courage Chigwedere, appeared in the Nebo Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 18 December 2025. He was remanded in custody until 24 December 2025.
The remaining two suspects were arrested later and were found in possession of property believed to have been stolen during robberies committed in early November 2025. The recovered items include 15 cellphones, a firearm and 17 live rounds of ammunition.
Police said investigations are continuing, and the two suspects are expected to appear in court soon on charges of house robbery and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
The two male suspects, aged 29 and 30, and the teenage girl were arrested on Monday last week in Potchefstroom after police received information about the incident and launched a coordinated operation involving Crime Intelligence, the Flying Squad in the Dr Kenneth Kaunda district, the provincial drug task team and private security companies.
According to North West provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Adéle Myburgh, the incident happened while the victim was driving a Toyota Yaris on the road between Nooitgedacht and Mooifontein near Mahikeng.
She was allegedly accosted by three suspects travelling in a white vehicle, who blocked the road and forced her to stop. Police said the suspects pointed her with a firearm and threatened her with a knife before forcing her into their vehicle.
The victim was then driven to Itsoseng and Mahikeng, where she was taken to several ATMs and compelled to withdraw money from her bank account.
