Western Cape man gets life for murdering wife – SABC News
The Circuit High Court sitting at George in the Western Cape has sentenced a man to life in prison for hacking his wife to death with a panga in 2022.
34-year-old Rodney Witbooi was also sentenced to 15 years for attempted rape, 15 years for attempted murder, seven years for house breaking, and three months on a drug charge.
He was found guilty last week.
In 2022, Witbooi is said to have attacked his 28-year-old wife, Sunee, after an argument with her and her family members.
He struck her several times on her head. The other sentences will run concurrently with the life sentence.
