Woman arrested for the possession of stolen goods worth R250K in WC

A 22-year old woman has been arrested in Lingelethu West in Khayelitsha, on the Cape Flats, for the possession of stolen goods worth R250 000 that were taken from a delivery truck during a hijacking.
Police spokesperson, FC Van Wyk, says the suspect faces charges of possession of stolen property and is expected to appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrate’s court once charged.
He says, “The Makhaza Anti-Hijacking Team were alerted to a delivery vehicle that was hijacked in the Makhaza area. The members quickly mobilised and recovered the vehicle at J-Section, Khayelitsha, with the driver and passenger. The victims informed them that the suspects loaded all the parcels into a vehicle and left the location. Following up on information, the members pounced on a premises in Mcewule Street J-Section, Khayelitsha, where all the stolen property with an estimated value of R250 000-00 was recovered.”
