This comes as Russia continues its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Nineteen South African men are trapped in Ukraine after being taken to Russia. This after they were apparently given the impression that they would be trained as bodyguards.

It’s alleged that a close family member was involved in their recruitment.

“We were happy when we made preparations for them to go for training because when they come back, they would get job opportunities. We were happy because we were told about this opportunity by people we know. In other words there was nothing suspicious. We were told that when they arrived in Dubai they were stranded but it was sorted out,” says Phumla Zuma.
