Two more people have been shot and killed and another wounded in Mitchell’s Plain on the Cape Flats.

Police say two men died after being shot multiple times.

This follows a spate of shooting incidents in the area in the past week.

Several people were shot and killed, and others were wounded.

Police spokesperson FC van Wyk says, “Circumstances surrounding this incident cited in your inquiry are still under investigation. Mitchells Plain police are investigating two counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder following a shooting incident on Friday night at about 20:10 at a premises in San Francisco Street, Portlands, Mitchells Plain, where two males aged 21 and 22 were shot and fatally wounded and a 26-year-old was shot and injured. A 21-year-old was not injured in this incident.”

“According to reports, SAPS members received a complaint of a shooting at the mentioned address, and on arrival at the scene, they found the bodies of two males with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body and head. Both victims were declared deceased by medical personnel. The unknown assailant(s) fled the scene and is yet to be arrested. The motive for this attack now forms part of the police investigation,” adds Van Wyk.
