DA receives lion’s share of donations in first-quarter of 2025/2026: IEC – SABC News
The Electoral Commission’s (IEC) first-quarter disclosure report for the 2025-2026 financial year has revealed that the Democratic Alliance (DA) has received the largest share of donations in this quarter.
The report has put the figure at R32 million, followed by the African National Congress (ANC) with over R7 million and then Action SA with R520 000.
Notable donations that were made to the DA were made by Fynbos Kapitaal (Pty) Ltd, a company linked to Capitec founder Michiel le Roux and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, among others.
The ANC received contributions from Chancellor House, a regular donor to the party.
Action SA received one singular donation from its leader, Herman Mashaba.
The Multi-Party Democracy Fund (MPDF) also received a contribution of R250 000 from Discovery Central Services.
