Parents urged to remain patient regarding Gauteng school placements

The Gauteng Department of Education is urging parents to remain patient regarding 2026 school placements, as many have expressed concerns over their children’s unplaced status with term four nearing its end.

The Department says parents with application status showing ‘being processed’ means the department is actively handling the application.

The Department’s Spokesperson Steve Mabona says they are working around the clock to complete placements.

“We should be announcing on when are we going to open for the late registration. MEC will lead us on that process, but we continue to place learners, so we should be in a position to update on how far we have gone but parents need to be patient, we are continuing with the placement process.”
