Man allegedly shot and killed his wife and son in Northern Cape

Northern Cape police say they are investigating two cases of murder and one of attempted murder.
This is after a man allegedly shot and killed his wife and son and wounded another person in Kimberley following an argument.
The suspect is currently in the hospital as he sustained a gunshot wound after allegedly trying to take his own life.
Police spokesperson Cherelle Ehlers says the suspect is currently under police guard in the hospital.
“It is believed that the 54-year-old male fired several shots, leaving his wife and son deceased. A 36-year-old female was injured and transported to the hospital for treatment. The suspect then reportedly fled to the home of a friend, where he allegedly sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital for treatment, where he was placed under arrest and is currently under police guard.”
