Ramaphosa reflects on SA-Spain economic partnership

President Cyril Ramaphosa says his visit to Spain reflects the strength of the two countries’ longstanding partnership and their shared commitment to building a modern, dynamic and mutually beneficial economic relationship.

He was addressing a Business Forum in the Spanish capital, Madrid.

The President says trade between Pretoria and Madrid reached approximately 2.8 billion Euros last year, making Spain one of South Africa’s fastest-growing major partners in the European Union.

“South Africa is a really outstanding investment destination and through this, your companies that have invested in South Africa have been able to create jobs which we solely need for over 20 000 people across various sectors from renewable energy, infrastructure, financial services to technology as well as tourism.”
