KwaZulu-Natal’s South Coast Tourism and Investment Enterprise (SCTIE) have launched its December summer campaign to attract more holidaymakers to the region.

The campaign aims to expand tourism beyond popular beaches, promoting rural heritage routes and adventure destinations, with safety and infrastructure readiness a priority.

CEO Dr Vusumuzi Sibiya says preparations are focused on ensuring a safe and seamless festive season for visitors.

“KZN South Coast, we recorded just above 25 %. Basically, it’s the numbers are between 25 to 30 in terms of the occupancy growth. So, which means in terms of numbers, we are capable of attracting the travellers, not only the domestic travellers, but also the foreign travellers that are coming down to the coast.”

“We have got a number of tourist assets that we sell as a commodity to our travellers, which definitely prolongs the stay of the travellers, the tourists when they come down to the coast. So, we’re going to use our very same model that we’re using to attract people coming down to the coast as visitors using the multiple platforms, models,” says Sibiya .
