Three suspects to appear in court for Kagiso man’s abduction

Three people accused of kidnapping and extortion are expected to appear in the Kagiso Magistrate’s Court in the West Rand on Monday.
The suspects were arrested on Saturday after police successfully rescued a 30-year-old man in Kagiso.
The man was abducted during a house-breaking incident in the area on Friday.
Police say the kidnappers demanded a R 500 000 ransom.
Gauteng Police Spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi says, “Through intelligence-driven operation and technical surveillance, the team traced the suspects to premises in Tshepisong Phase 1.”
She says, “Three suspects were apprehended at the scene, and the team further seized a white Suzuki bakkie, Capitec bank cards and cellphones believed to have been used in the commission of the crime.”
Nevhuhulwi adds, “The victim has since been reunited with family. All three suspects are expected to appear before Kagiso Magistrates’ Court on 04 May 2026, facing charges of kidnapping and extortion.”
