Two police officers, civilian due in Kempton Park court

Two senior police officers and a civilian are expected to appear before the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court east of Johannesburg on Monday morning.
They face charges of illegal dealing and unlawful possession of precious metals.
National Police Spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says the suspects were arrested over the weekend.

“The suspects are expected to appear before the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on Monday, facing charges that may include the unlawful dealing in precious metals, defeating the ends of justice, and corruption. These arrests form part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement to dismantle criminal networks involved in the illicit trade of precious minerals and corruption,” adds Mathe.
