Alleged serial rapist linked to 9 rapes arrested in KZN – SABC News


An alleged serial rapist linked to nine rapes and robbery cases over a three-year period on the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast, has been arrested.

Police spokesperson Thenjiswa Ngcobo says the alleged rapist, working with another man, would overpower their victims, rob and rape them in the areas of KwaDukuza, oThongathi and Mandeni.

The nine incidents happened between 2013 and 2016.

Ngcobo says the police were looking for the two suspects and located the 36-year-old man hiding in a forest near KwaDukuza.

“Their victims were aged between 15 and 37 years when they were raped. On 28 January 2013, a 21-year-old woman was walking near a bridge in Darnall when she was approached by two unknown men who dragged her to a nearby bush and raped her.”
