Help find Zoe Joshua, 17, and her niece Jermica, 3, missing since September 11
An Elsies River family is distraught after their daughter and niece have been missing since last week.
Zoe Joshua, 17, and her niece, three-year-old Jermica Andrews from Salbereu, were last seen on Thursday, September 11, leaving the home at about 12 pm.
The teenager has not returned home since and has made no contact with the family.
Zoe, a Coloured female, has brown eyes, has black hair which is medium in length, is approximately 1.6 metres tall and weighs about 86kg.
Little Jermica has brown eyes, short black dreadlocks, short in stature, and she has a visible scar under her nose.
Director and founder of Western Cape Missing Persons Unit, Candice van der Rheede, has urged anyone with information to come forward.
“It has been almost a week since Zoe and Jermica have been missing. We are very concerned. If anyone has seen Zoe and this baby, please contact the investigating officer or anyone from the missing persons flyer,” she told IOL.
Western Cape police spokesperson, Captain Frederick van Wyk, confirmed the matter is being investigated by the Bishop Lavis Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit.
“The Bishop Lavis FCS Unit is seeking the assistance of the public to trace 17-year-old Zoe Joshua and three-year-old Jermica Andrews, who reside in Salberau, Elsies River.
“It is alleged that Zoe left home on Thursday, September 11, 2025, with the three-year-old Jermica, without informing anybody. At the time of her disappearance, she was last seen wearing black cargo pants and pink slippers, whilst Jermica was dressed in pink pants, a green hoodie top, a green t-shirt, and brown sandals,” van Wyk said.
Police urge anyone who can assist with information that can lead to the safe return of Zoe and Jermica is kindly requested to contact the investigating officer, Detective Constable Aden Carelse, at 082 522 1090 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or alternatively, use the mobile application MySAPS anonymously.
It has also been 10 days since Anovuyo Oncke from Lotus River went missing. The eight-year-old girl is still being sought.
Police confirmed the search for the missing girl remains ongoing.
