Khumalo will not take stand at Madlanga Commission on Monday – SABC News

Crime Intelligence boss Dumisani Khumalo will not appear before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry when it resumes its hearings on Monday.
The evidence leaders, however, will apply for the hearings to be conducted in a closed session.
The commission is probing allegations of criminality, political interference and corruption in the justice system.
The commission’s spokesperson Jeremy Michaels says due to the of nature of the evidence to be presented when the hearings resume, the evidence leaders will apply for the hearings to be conducted on camera, that is to say, the hearings will be held in a closed session at which members of the media and members of the public will not be allowed.
“If the commission grants the application, the hearings will then proceed in camera until further notice. We must clarify that Lieutenant General Dumisani Kumalo, the South African Police Service (SAPS) Head of Crime Intelligence, will not testify during this period.”
