Two TRT police officers killed in a vehicle crash in eMalahleni

Two police officers from the Tactical Response Team (TRT) have been killed in a single motor vehicle crash in eMalahleni in Mpumalanga.
They were travelling to Pretoria to testify in cases before the court when the driver lost control of the state vehicle they were travelling in.
The two officers were part of the eManguzi Task Team in KwaZulu-Natal, where they were actively involved in combating cross-border crimes.
Police spokesperson, Athlenda Mathe, extends condolences to the family and friends of the officers.
She says, “The acting National Commissioner of SAPS, Lieutenant General Dimpane, has extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, friends, and colleagues of the deceased members. The names of the deceased will be released once all immediate family members have been informed. The SAPS Employee Health and Wellness (EHW) unit has been dispatched to provide psychosocial services to the families and colleagues of the members.”
